Meet us where cuteness is curated
The cutest cards, the kitschiest gifts, and the trendiest clothes. That’s what you’ll find at the Darling Shop in La Grange.
Everything is “carefully curated cuteness,” according to the shop owners who have built a unique shopping experience in this store with an entire wall full of stickers and an entire wall of buttons with funny sayings.
There are shelves stocked with party favors and gifts to warm the heart and inspire a belly laugh.
This is the kind of store that you walk into without realizing you’re about to spend an entire (very fun!) afternoon lost in the shelves. After all, the motto here is “Don’t be like the rest of them, darling. Have more fun.”
The Darling Shop is open Wednesday through Sunday from 11am to 5pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
There is something for every budget at the Darling Shop. Buy a candle that declares “Girl, Stop and Smell the Roses” for about $30 or a keychain stating “It Ain’t My First Rodeo” for about $18.
Fun drink tumblers like one that looks like a silver disco ball range from $12 to $15.
There are also thoughtfully curated “Cheer Parcels” like the whiskey box built to bring joy to a whisky lover. It includes a gold-plated flask, a set of heart whiskey stones, a whiskey journal, and a vinyl sticker. That box runs for $65.
The staff at the Darling Shop get rave reviews for kindly helping customers navigate the stacks of whimsy. You might find Lynnie Espinosa behind the counter. Her daughter owns the shop and does all the “cuteness curation,” but Lynnie is often the smiling face who will greet you.
Located at 8 West Harris Avenue in La Grange, the Darling Shop is a four-minute walk from the La Grange Road Stop on the BNSF Metra.
