Montalbano Furniture & Restoration

2600 South 25th Avenue, Suite B-28
Broadview, IL 60155

Meet us where the furniture is always handcrafted

Did someone say unique furniture hand-carved from quality wood? Restored antiques and reproductions? How about vintage furniture, lamps, and gifts from Italy?

It’s all here at the Montalbano Furniture Showroom in Broadview!

This family-owned company has specialized in carving intricate, historical patterns of Baroque-style furniture and 18th-century, French- and Victorian-style furniture for more than 100 years.

Today, Montalbano is the oldest handmade furniture company in America that also works on restoration and reupholstery. This means you can restore or refinish that beautiful piece that you found at an antique fair with trusted experts who are the best in the furniture business.

The family is proud to create fine, handcrafted, hand-sanded carvings the old-fashioned way. Always by hand!

Thomas Montalbano was born in Chicago at the turn of the 20th century to his Sicilian parents. As one of 10 children, he started seeking work at the age of just 12 years old. He found work with the Artistic Wood Carving Company, but they fired him when he bought his own wood-carving machine with his earnings.

And so, just like that, at the age of 12, “Tommy” Montalbano founded the Montalbano Majestic Wood Carving Company in the garage of his family home.

The company grew along with Tommy’s reputation as the finest furniture multiple-spindle carver in the country.

In the 1960s, Tommy was joined in the business by his three sons, Thomas Jr., Robert, and Richard. Today, Tommy’s first grandson, Mark Montalbano, is the company’s CEO.

Montalbano Furniture has always remained a family-owned and operated business throughout its more than 100-year history!
