Meet us where the beads have gone global
Here you’ll find a bit of bohemian mixed with broad global inspiration in an independent, woman-owned studio and store.
When you enter Laura Atwood Studio Beads and Trading Co., you’ll be greeted with a wall of beads from all over the world. Sapphires from India, Peruvian opals, rough-cut rubies, and (many more!) beads dangle from beautiful strands in a dazzling display.
Laura travels around the world to find unique beads that she brings home to her studio space in Brookfield where you can easily get lost in the sea of beads or the rooms full of handmade wares.
Beyond the beads, you will find crystals, fossils, gemstones, and more! Laura Atwood Studio also sells candles, incense, handbags, home decor, clothing, pendants, and handmade jewelry of all shapes and sizes.
Loose beads and jewelry-making supplies are also available. It’s also possible to take bead and art classes from Laura or to organize your own jewelry-making event at the studio!
Any time is a good time to stop by the Laura Atwood Studio to find a unique gift or the perfect one-of-a-kind necklace to complement your outfit.
The Laura Atwood Studio hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 6 pm and Sunday from 11am to 4pm. (Closed Monday.)
Despite the uniqueness, quality, and general beauty of the beads and gems here, the jewelry is quite affordable. There is something here for every budget.
Bead strands range in price from around $25 to $150.
When she’s not traveling around the world procuring unique beads and beautiful gems, Laura is at the studio and store designing a beautiful new layout for the museum-like space or waiting to welcome your questions about jewelry and jewelry making.
The Laura Atwood Studio is located at 9142 Broadway in Brookfield. The studio is a little more than a half-mile from the Brookfield stop on the BNSF or a 25-minute drive west of downtown Chicago. Street parking is available.
