Einnim is a woman-owned, black-owned lifestyle shop in Oak Park that sells organic and natural apothecary items. Here you will find soy wax candles, goat milk soap bars, and calming room fresheners made to invite relaxation.
You can even stop in at the candle bar to create your own customized scent!
You can find a wide range of natural products like beard oil, curl enhancing cream, and hair kits.
The gift options here are endless. The self-care gift box makes for a perfect present with its Einnim brand lavender body mist coupled with an Einnim soap bar made from lavender, poppy seed, and goat milk. It also comes with a natural loofah sponge and jade facial roller.
Every product at Einnim is cruelty-free, made with attention to detail, and tested by and on Owner Lita Selmon.
To Selmon, it is important to create natural products that celebrate the strength and resistance of her Bigma, Minnie, who is the namesake of the shop (Einnim is Minnie spelled backward).
It is also important to her to create a lifestyle brand that promotes equality, happiness, health, and positivity.
The shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 11am to 6pm, Saturday 11am to 7pm, and Sunday 11am to 5pm. Closed Sunday.
Costs range depending on the lifestyle product that you seek. A custom-scented, hand-poured, soy-wax melt is $13. A cedarwood and rosemary shampoo bar is $10 as is a bar of soap made from tea-tree oil and oatmeal.
The self-care gift box is $55.
Lita Selmon opened Einnim (pronounced EYE-NUHM) in 2020 to help fellow immunocompromised people cope with the many unknowns and fears that the pandemic caused.
Selmon sells natural and organic apothecary products for the hair, body, and home. And she seeks to build a large lifestyle brand that promotes equality and organic happiness.
Einnim is located at 1020 Lake Street in Oak Park. It’s just a five-minute walk from the Oak Park Stop on the Union Pacific West Metra Train and a five-minute walk from the Harlem/Lake Stop on the CTA Green Line.
