Hemingway’s Birthday Fete


Date: July 19-21


Hemingway's Birthday Fete is a celebratory event running from July 19 to July 21, commemorating the 125th birthday of the district's namesake, Ernest Hemingway. The festivities include author readings at three different Oak Park businesses, a kids' fun run, a scavenger hunt, and an evening concert at the Hemingway Birthplace Museum. The celebration culminates on July 21 with a rendition of "Happy Birthday" and a concert at Scoville Park, hosted by the Park District of Oak Park. This event offers a unique blend of activities and community engagement, honoring the legacy of the Nobel Prize-winning author.
