4th of July Parade | July 4th
Celebrate America in Oak Park at the annual Independence Day Parade. The parade begins at Longfellow Park, located at Ridgeland Avenue and Adams Street, at 10 a.m., turns east on Augusta Street, and eventually disperses near Whittier Elementary School, close to Harvey Avenue.
Find a spot along Ridgeland or Augusta Street to see representatives of the many local organizations that make Oak Park special, from social and special interest groups to community organizations, sports teams, politicians, businesses, and service organizations. Street performers, pride-filled pet lovers marching with their furry friends, and lively bands add to the parade’s excitement.

Brookfield
4th of July Parade & Party in the Park | July 4
The village of Brookfield promises a day of fun beginning with the annual parade, kicking off at 10 a.m. with brightly colored floats, marching bands, and spirited community groups, followed by a party in Kiwanis Park (8820 Brookfield Avenue, Brookfield). Gather with friends, family, and fellow community members at the Party in the Park to celebrate America’s independence.
The party features games, delicious food, and live music performances. A local favorite, The Redmonds, led by the vocal harmonies of husband and wife Mike and Katie Redmond, start things off at 12:30-2:30 p.m., then Whiskeyfist takes the stage, bringing southern and classic rock favorites to the party at 3:30 p.m. The event wraps up at 5:30 p.m., leaving plenty of time for you to head to fireworks in a nearby community.

La Grange & La Grange Park
La Grange Country Club Fireworks | July 3
This members-only, family-friendly party includes bouncy houses, face painting, rock climbing walls, live music, and one of the best fireworks displays in the area. This event is just for club members, but here’s an insider tip: you can see the La Grange Country Club fireworks display from Waiola Park or the parking lot at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth La Grange Hospital (5101 Willow Springs Road)!
Painting with a Twist Special | July 4
Get creative in La Grange and celebrate your independence. Bottle & Bottega at 1 West Harris Avenue invites you to pick your own subject at its BYOB Painting with a Twist event from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. on July 4th.
The studio provides glasses, corkscrews, and ice for beverages you bring along and plastic ware, paper plates, and napkins for the snacks you provide for your group. The cost ($35-$45/person) includes all necessary paint supplies and aprons, instruction, and a take-home canvas or wood plank.

North Riverside
4th of July Parade and Party in the Park | July 4
Begin your day at 10 a.m. in North Riverside with the parade – it starts at 9th Avenue and 26th Street and travels east on 26th Street. Follow the parade until it ends at Veterans Park for a tribute to the USA and a grand salute before local Little Leagues take the field. Join family, friends, and community members at the Village Commons when the party starts at 6:00 p.m. for various family-focused attractions and an array of food vendors. Hello Weekend will perform at 7:00 p.m., wrapping up just before the fireworks provided by the Riverside Golf Club light up the sky at 9:00 p.m.
Every year Riverside Golf Club hosts a mesmerizing fireworks extravaganza that captivates members and residents alike. Established in 1893, this private 18-hole golf course traditionally offers a fantastic fireworks display on July 4th. If you're not a club member, don't fret – you can view the spectacle from the party at Village Commons.

Community Celebration | July 4
Looking for an active Independence Day celebration? Register for the annual Riverside Parks & Recreation Independence Day 5K, lace up your running shoes, and join the community for a morning of fitness and fun. The parade commences at Big Ball Park at 8:45 a.m. and proceeds south down Longcommon Road, concluding at Guthrie Park where the Festival in the Park offers music, food, and activities from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Summer Sounds | July 3
Start early! Begin your celebration on July 3 with The Donna Herula Band at River Forest’s Summer Sounds concert series on the Quad at Dominican University at 7:00 p.m. Bring a blanket or a chair, pack a picnic dinner, and join friends and neighbors for an evening with Donna Herula, a blues singer, songwriter, resonator slide guitarist, and Chicago Blues Hall of Fame inductee. Offering a fresh, contemporary perspective on blues and roots music, she will entertain you with a variety of blues styles.
The Summer Sounds series of free concerts continues on Wednesday nights through August 14.

Schiller Park
Community Picnic & Pool Party | July 4
Mayor Nick Caiafa and the Schiller Park Village Board invite residents to Anna Montana Water Park & Memorial Pool (4001 Scott Street, Schiller Park) for a community-wide event on July 4th from 11:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. Party-goers will receive complimentary hot dogs, lemonade, and chips from noon until 2 p.m. Admission to the pool will be free during this event.

Independence Day Parade & Celebration | July 4th
Celebrate America in Westchester! The parade will kick off at 9:30 a.m. at Mayfair Avenue and Dorchester Street and ends at Community Park on Bond St.
After the parade, you can stick around for light refreshments in the park and free swim for residents in partnership with the Westchester Park District.
