Westchester Inn

Meet us where schnitzel and pierogi are served

You might hear the chef pounding the tenderloin in the kitchen of the Westchester Inn where huge portions of Bohemian-American food are served up at budget prices.

What does it mean to serve Bohemian-American food? Think pickled beef with svíčková gravy (that’s a creamy sauce from the Czech Republic), chicken schnitzel, and meatloaf topped with gravy.

The dishes are familiar to those who have traveled to Prague and tasted the meat and dumplings. Tempt your tastebuds with pierogi, roast loin of pork, or roast island duck. And don’t forget the fruit dumplings!

This restaurant may not look like much from the outside, but inside you will be blown away by the delicious dishes at affordable prices. Given how busy this restaurant is, we aren’t the only ones who are impressed!

The portions are large here, so you’ll be sure to have leftovers. Pro Tip: Some dishes come in half sizes at the Westchester Inn.

The prices are so good at the Westchester Inn that the restaurant landed in the Chicago Tribune’s “Cheap Eats” series for restaurants serving entrees at $13 or less.

While not all entrees are $13 or less, you’ll find a wide variety of dishes in that category. The best part about all of the entrees is that they come with soup or tomato juice, bread and butter, coffee, dessert, and your choice of a side (we recommend the dumplings!)

The roast loin of pork is about $18. Chicken schnitzel is about $19 and the pickled Beef with svíčková gravy is about $21.
