A classic diner in Northlake that makes you feel like you’re family! The Winking Dog has been serving up hot dogs and hand-carved gyros since 1958 in an atmosphere designed to make you feel at home.
Everything here is made-to-order and cooked fresh. The homemade soups are made from scratch.
The Winking Dog says the hand-carved gyros are the best around and you’ll get no argument from us!
We also love the classic corned beef on rye with muscles and a pickle as well as the Barbeque Chicken and Ribs, a combo plate with a half chicken and half slab of ribs with fries, coleslaw, and garlic.
The Winking Dog is open Monday through Friday from 10am to 9:30pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am to 9pm.
It’s a great value for a meal at The Winking Dog. Check the specials board for the current promotions. You might get two hot dogs with fries for $5.99 or a hand-carved gyro and fries for $7.35.
The Winking Dog is located at 100 East North Avenue in Northlake. There is a drive-through window, but we recommend parking the car and coming inside to enjoy this welcoming diner!
