Chickies Beef first opened its doors in 1962 on 28th and Pulaski, quietly serving some of the best homemade Italian beef in Chicago. In fact, everything at Chickies is homemade or made from scratch, including the hand-cut fries, the legendary hot peppers, and the Italian lemonade.
You can choose an Italian beef sandwich with thinly sliced meat topped with a gravy that some say is the richest beef flavor of all the beef joints in Chicagoland. The sandwich is loaded with hot peppers, jalapeños, and celery. Or opt for Italian sausage (or make it a combo with both beef and sausage!)
A Meatball Sandwich is also a great option at Chickies. And we love the Caprese Sandwich as well. There are healthy salads and Keto Bowls, too! A Keto Bowl with Italian beef, Italian sausage, sweet peppers, and mozzarella is a delicious choice.
Treat yourself with the fried dough made from scratch and topped with sugar, cinnamon, powdered sugar, and cannoli dipping cream. Pair it all with a milkshake or an Italian ice.

Chickies is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 10pm and Sunday from 11am to 10pm.
Fridays at the Original Chickes Beef means the famous egg and pepper sandwich is served.
An Italian beef or sausage sandwich at Chickies Beef is less than $8. A combination sandwich is less than $9. Make it a meal with hand-cut fries and drinks for $3.95. Salads are about $12. Keto Bowls are about $11.
A small Italian ice is $3.
Today at the Original Chickies Beef, you’ll find the grandson of the original owners. Chuck Falco maintains the standards that his grandparents, Bob and Madeline "Chickie" Bailey, implemented when they served their first Italian beef sandwich in 1962.
The Original Chickies Beef is now located at 4152 Roosevelt Road in Hillside. It is just 14 miles west of downtown Chicago.
