At the Sha-Poppin Gourmet Popcorn Shop in Westchester, you might actually be intimidated by the sheer number of flavors before you!
With 40 different flavors of popcorn, it may be hard to figure out where to begin, but once you start tasting your way through the seemingly endless options, you won’t want to stop.
The all-time favorite selection at the shop is the classic Cheese, but you can explore outside the “popcorn box” with flavors like Memphis BBQ Cheddar, Guadalajara Hot Sauce, Sassy Caramel Apple, Maple Bacon, and Dill Pickle.
You can also try the Caramel popcorn that is covered in real, edible 24K gold!
If you can’t decide, don’t worry. You can mix two flavors together.
The Sha-Poppin Gourmet Popcorn Shop is open Thursday from 11am to 5pm, Friday and Saturday from 11am to 6pm, and Sunday from 11am to 5pm. The shop is closed Monday through Wednesday.

The “not so small (small)” bag of popcorn is about $6. The “plenty to share (medium)” is about $8, and the “Sha-large (large)” is about $11.
You can also purchase a one-gallon tin for $24, a two-gallon tin for $44, a three-gallon tin for $65, and a whopping six-and-a-half-gallon tin for $105.
In Westchester, Stacey Hawkins Armstrong is known as the “Mad Scientist of Popcorn”. She has been taste-testing popcorn since she was nine years old and, if you think the 40 flavors she offers in the Sha-Poppin Gourmet Popcorn Shop are a lot, consider that Armstrong has created more than 150 flavors throughout her popcorn-making career.
Armstrong reports that she has spent hours testing out more combinations of popcorn flavors than we can possibly imagine. She is, indeed, the reigning popcorn queen of Chicagoland!
The Sha-Poppin Gourmet Popcorn Shop is located at 10352 Roosevelt Road in Westchester. It’s just 14 miles from downtown Chicago or six miles from Oak Park.
