Meet us where dining well means living well
Prasino means “green” in Greek, and that commitment to the planet is evident from the moment you walk into the dining space made of recycled and reclaimed materials at this eco-friendly restaurant.
There are a lot of decisions that go into the creation of a restaurant - from the design to the menu to the plates on the table - and every decision made at Prasino is made with the planet in mind.
Prasino serves American fare with carefully selected ingredients. Meat and poultry are vegetarian-fed and free of antibiotics and hormones. Livestock is raised humanely on land that is sustained with environmentally sound practices. Like the meat for the menu, the organic ingredients and produce are procured and grown locally.
The napkins are cloth, the cleaning materials are green, and the state-of-the-art hand-dryers in the bathroom are designed to save our landfills from countless paper towels.
The high-tech water filtration system uses active carbon filters and a UV radiation chamber to remove impurities and reduce the usage of plastic water bottles.
Prasino is open Sunday through Thursday from 8am to 9pm and Friday and Saturday from 8am to 10pm.
Breakfast entrees served with organic, farm-fresh eggs are about $15. Try the Santa Monica Frittata with spinach, tomato, peppers, onions, avocado, and goat cheese!
Dinner entrees are about $20. Try the Mushroom Stroganoff Pappardelle with caramelized leek and a medley of mushrooms beneath a vegan cream sauce!
A signature cocktail is $13 like the Garden City with empress gin, lychee puree, fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lemon juice, and grapefruit soda.
Let the local farmers, ranchers, vintners and brewers represented on the Prasino menu be your guide here.
The restaurant team is well educated in environmental standards and green initiatives. Your server or bartender (serving “farm-to-bar” cocktails, of course!) will introduce you to the local partners who share an eco-friendly mission with Prasino.
Located at 93 S. La Grange Road, Prasino is a six-minute walk from the La Grange Road Stop on the BNSF or a 25-minute drive from downtown Chicago.
