An artistic vibe is the first thing you’ll notice about this coffee shop in La Grange where specialty coffee drinks, fresh juices and smoothies, and made-to-order wholesome food is served in a cozy space.
Owl and Lark is a place where you can find healthy, sustainably sourced food at almost all hours of the day. Hence the coffee shop name, which reflects both early-bird larks and night owls.
Try a Blueberry Lavender Smoothie with wild blueberries, lavender, watermelon, almond milk, and banana. It’s topped with even more blueberries, chia, banana granola, agave, and cacao nibs. Or opt for the Green Goddess Bagel, which is cream cheese, cucumber, avocado, lettuce, onion, radish, and sesame seeds on an everything bagel.
The cold-pressed juices are cold-pressed deliciousness. The Golden Immunity Juice is made of carrot, turmeric, apple, lemon, and ginger and the Green Detox is made of cucumber, celery, kale, spinach, apple, lemon, ginger, and parsley.
Owl and Lark is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 8am to 5pm.
A 16-ounce smoothie bowl is $12.75, toasts and salads range from $10 to $16, and 16-ounce cold-pressed juices are $8.50. Specialty coffee drinks range from about $3 to about $6.
Owl and Lark co-owners Lina Kiznyte and Birute Cepaityte decided to open Owl and Lark when they couldn’t find any juice bars or specialty coffee shops near their La Grange homes.
The co-owners are proud to offer healthy grab-and-go food for commuters as well as for those who want to stay a while in the cozy shop with an interior inspired by Scandinavia and an exterior featuring reclaimed wood.
Owl and Lark is located at 41 South La Grange Road. It’s just a three-minute walk from the La Grange Road Stop on the BNSF Metra Train.
