Meet us under the flying flags of the Caribbean, for authentic specialties
At the center of everything is the food — jerk chicken, oxtail and catfish, red curry goat and jerk ribs grilled up in an authentic, inviting Caribbean style. Over the years Montego Bay has become a community hub, attracting people of diverse personal backgrounds and cultures.
Montego Bay is open for lunch and dinner from noon until 10 pm Monday-Saturday. The restaurant is closed on Sunday.
Montego Bay offers six jerk chicken wings for under $10. Its famous red snapper, accompanied by an assortment of tropical sides like plantains or red beans & rice, runs about $15.
A native of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia, Kertis “Luchie” Willie originally moved to the United States to pursue a biomedical career. He opened the restaurant in 2011. “Some countries prepare their food differently but they have a taste from each island blended in one plate,” Willie said. “It’s a taste of the Caribbean and it’s authentic. We come in the morning and prepare the food fresh every day. We want to make our customers happy with their food. We want to prepare it the way they’re used to eating it.”
Located at 700 Bellwood Road in Bellwood, Montego Bay Restaurant and Grill is south of Washington Boulevard, near the intersection of Bellwood and St. Paul avenues.
