The smiley face on the coffee mugs set the tone for this fun diner that serves breakfast until 3pm seven days a week.
With large portions of delicious comfort food in a playfully decorated diner, the ambiance is enough to draw you into Mary’s Morning Mix-Up, but the delicious food and pastries will keep you coming back!
Guests rave about the Corned Beef Hash and the Jalapeño Bacon, and we haven’t even reached the main dishes yet!
Let’s start with the pancakes. There are Donut Pancakes topped with a sweet butter glaze and Snicker’s Pancakes topped with peanut butter, chocolate chips, caramel sauce, pecans, and chocolate syrup.
Then there is the Pancake Sandwich with ham and eggs pressed between two delicious - you guessed it - pancakes!
It’s hard to get past the list of pancake options, but some of the other enticing items on Mary’s menu are the Green Eggs and Ham with fresh spinach, ham, and potatoes and the Red Velvet French Toast with cream-cheese filling topped with a vanilla swirl.
Breakfast is served until the restaurant closes, but there is a lunch menu if you’re in the mood for a sandwich or a salad. And you certainly won’t want to miss the baked goods from the bakery!
Mary’s Morning Mix-Up is open seven days a week, 364 days a year from 7am to 3pm. (Closed Christmas Day).
Just minutes from the Brookfield Zoo, this family-friendly diner is a great stop for breakfast before a day with the animals.
During the summer months, the outdoor patio is a perfect place to sip your morning coffee. On the weekends there is often live music.
Your breakfast will be about $10-$15.
Mary Vasquez is the cheerful owner of Mary’s Morning Mix-Up. She’ll be the one with the bright smile who greets you with warm donuts when you walk through the door.

Mary’s Morning Mix-Up is located at 9110 Broadway Avenue in Brookfield. The popular diner is a 25-minute drive west of Chicago or just over a half-mile walk from the Brookfield stop on the BNSF Railway.
