Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria (Oak Park)

1038 Lake Street
Oak Park, IL 60301

Meet us where the pizza is served Chicago-style

In every passionate discussion about the best deep-dish pizza in Chicago, this pizzeria makes the list.

Lou Malnati’s served its first heaping slice of cheesy pizza on March 17, 1971, when Lou and Jean Malnati opened their first pizzeria in Lincolnwood. Despite opening an Italian restaurant in a Jewish neighborhood on St. Patrick’s Day, people lined up around the blog for a slice.

After Lou passed away in 1978, his sons, Marc and Rick, joined their mother in the family business. Together, they honored Lou’s legacy by continuing the tradition of scratch-made pizza using hand-selected vine-ripened tomatoes from California and a secret family recipe for the famed buttery crust.

Today, you can find Lou Malnati’s Pizzerias across Illinois, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Indiana, including two locations that we love in Oak Park and Broadview.

Beyond the organic ingredients like local, dairy-made cheese and hand-picked tomatoes, Lou Manati’s Pizzeria has long prided itself on the most important ingredient of all: dedicated team members.

At any Malnati’s, you’ll find a welcoming staff. In fact, across this pizzeria empire with more than 75 locations, 15 percent of the employees have been with Lou’s for more than ten years.
