Meet us where the tequila comes in flights
In Jalisco, Mexico, tequila is a way of life. It’s that very way of life that Sergio Suarez seeks to introduce to the Chicago area by way of La Tequileria Premium Tequila Lounge.
Born in Jalisco, Suarez knows a little something about the spirit of his home, which is why the curated tequila and cocktail list at La Tequileria are second to none.
Here you will learn all about tequila, the agave plant, and the people of Jalisco who plant, harvest, distill, and distribute tequila to the world.
Try a tequila flight or opt for a craft cocktail like the Escaramuza with mango, pineapple, fresh lime juice, grapefruit, Squirt, and, of course, tequila. The Fresa Picante explores jalapeño-infused blanco tequila, combining it with strawberry, elderflower liqueur, and fresh lime juice.
The curated drink and cocktail list is just the beginning at La Tequileria. The kitchen is also busy, whipping up quesadillas and tacos like duck carnitas (slow-roasted duck, orange-habanero cajeta, cilantro, onion, and queso fresco).
La Tequileria is open Wednesday through Saturday from 4pm to 2am. On Sundays, the restaurant opens early at noon and stays open until midnight. La Tequileria is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Craft cocktails range from $11 to $16. Tequila flights range from $22 to $50. Entrees are about $15 at La Tequileria.
Owner Sergio Suarez operates La Tequileria with his son, Executive Manager David Suarez. The two are committed to bringing the tastes and traditions of Jalisco to Chicagoland.
Chef Diana Coss y Leon graduated from the Culinary Art School of Kendall College in Guadalajara, Jalisco where she honed her passion for cooking in a way that respects the tradition and history of the ingredients.
La Tequileria is located at 2118 W. Lake in Melrose Park. It is a half-mile walk from the Melrose Park Stop on the Union Pacific West Metra Train.
