Kettlestrings Grove

Meet us where cocktails are curated with care

The owners of Kettlestrings Tavern have done it again, opening the hottest cocktail lounge in Oak Park. Kettlestrings Grove in the Pleasant District neighborhood serves up sharable dishes and thoughtful cocktails in a trendy space that feels like a speakeasy.

We love the Betty Rose with Benhams Vodka, Ha’Penny Rhubarb Gin, Starlino Rose, and lavender simple syrup with hibiscus water, or the Kettlestrings Collins with Elevate Vodka, Thatchers Elderflower, Mathilde Poire, lemon juice, thyme and honey simple syrup, and club soda.

We like to pair our house-crafted cocktail with a shared plate of Blistered Shishito Peppers or charcuterie from area producers.

Many of the drinks on the menu are inspired by the local legends of the area just as the restaurant’s name is a nod to Oak Park founders Joe and Betty Kettlestrings. In fact, the original section of land that the Kettlestrings settled in the 1830s was called Kettlestrings Grove.

Both Kettlestrings Tavern and Kettlestrings Grove are owned by three Oak Park families who joined together to design spaces where people can celebrate the simple pleasures in life.

The co-owners and founders are Wil and Justine Greenwald, Rob Guenthner and Katie Ashton, and Pete and Fran Lisnic.

Dan Swartz is the operations director for Kettlestrings Grove and this position requires diligent oversight of the unique craft cocktail program at the lounge. Tanya Baker is the award-winning chef for Kettlestrings Tavern, Kettlestrings Grove, and a third sister establishment called Betty’s Pizza and Pasta.
