Kama Bistro

9 South La Grange Road
La Grange, IL 60525

Meet us where Indian tradition fuses with American fare

At Kama Bistro, you will delight in the fresh, bold dishes made from scratch and tailored to your spice preference. Indian family recipes fuse with the Midwest culinary experience to create an unforgettable dining experience.

You’ll know right away that you’re in for a treat when you walk into the dining room with its dark purple walls, hand-carved Indian art, and cozy cushions.

The wood in the intimate dining room includes intricately carved family-style tables, wine racks adorning the bar, and a ceiling arch all handmade for the restaurant by friends and family of the owners. Much of the wood is reclaimed from Poland during the time of the second world war.

The menu includes delicious items like the Tandoori Lamb Chops (charcoal-grilled and coated in a garam masala dry rub) and the Tikka Masala (simmered in a fresh tomato reduction sauce and flavored with fenugreek and a special Kama garam masala).

Bonus: More than 90 percent of the Kama menu is gluten-free!

Vikram and Agnes Singh opened Kama Bistro in 2009, bringing their family recipes and passion to La Grange. The two believe that every meal should be an event that enthralls the senses.

In fact, treating every meal as an event is one of the listed “Kamadments” for Kama along with “thou shall share thy passion for great food”.

Vikram’s father is a star chef in India, and many of the family recipes are featured on the menu at Kama where Vikram’s Indian heritage mixes with his exploration of the American culinary scene.

The result is a fusion menu where you’ll find a 36-hour slow-simmered Dal Makhani from Vikram’s North India next to a plate of Tamarind-glazed BBQ ribs.
