Meet us where the Guinness flows
Some 20 years ago, Irishman Martin Cosgrave looked at a closed-down pizza parlor near the train tracks in Brookfield and saw an Irish pub.
It’s a good thing he did. Today, the Irish Times Pub and Restaurant is the winner of the XRT best outdoor patio award, and it was named Best Destination Pub in the Midwest by Chicago’s Best.
It’s easy to see why. Walking into the doors of Irish Times is just like walking into a pub in Co. Galway where Cosgrave is from.
Guests rave about the authentic Shepherd's Pie with beef smothered in stout gravy and topped with mashed potatoes and cheese.
The curry fries topped with peas will bring you right back to Ireland. Or opt for the Fish and Chips with Atlantic Cod. Either way, pair your authentic Irish fare with a pint of Guinness for a meal to remember.
Irish Times is open Sunday through Thursday from 11am-1:30am and Friday and Saturday from 11am-2:30am.
On Monday nights you can get a half-pound Angus Burger for just $5. You won’t want to miss the popular Friday night all-you-can-eat Fish Fry special.
There are festivities planned at Irish Times all week long when St. Patrick’s Day rolls around. But the summer pig roasts are also a great time to visit the pub. And make sure to mark your calendar for the annual Guinness Oyster Fest in September!
For an entree of traditional Irish fare expect to pay between $14-$19. You can also order family style! Corned Beef and Cabbage for the entire family is $50.
A 20-ounce draft of dry stout Guinness from Dublin is $6.75.
Martin Lynch will likely be at the pub to welcome you. The nephew of the original owner, Martin Cosgrave, Lynch hails from Athenry, Co. Galway, and he is committed to making the Irish Times the most highly regarded Irish pub in the Chicagoland area.
Located at 8869, Burlington Ave., Irish Times is just steps from the Brookfield stop on the BNSF Railway.
