At the Hot Dog and Burger Company in La Grange, the chefs put new flavor into old traditions. This small hot dog stand perched in the Horton’s parking lot is dedicated to traditional Chicago flavors with bold twists.
For instance, rather than ordering the traditional Chicago dog with sport peppers, tomato, onion, relish, mustard, and pickles, make it a burger instead! Or get a Stroganoff Burger with stroganoff sauce, mozzarella, grilled onions, and sauteed mushrooms.
You can still get your traditional Chicago dog here, or you can try a BBQ Hot Dog with sweet BBQ sauce, fried sport peppers, and grilled onions. The Sriracha Hot Dog comes with housemade “sriachannaise,” tomato, and dill pickle while the Spicy Hot Dog is drizzled with cheese sauce and smothered in Giardiniera and sport peppers.
There is also a traditional corn dog as well as chicken tenders, fries, tots, and onion rings.
Don’t worry, if you’re not a meat-eater, you can swap many of the hot dog creations for a veggie dog or opt for a salad.
But we’ve saved the best for last! This hot dog stand is also a “pop shop” with over 100 types of bottled sodas lining an entire wall of the place!
Try Dad’s Root Beer or Frostie Cherry Limeade. Sip a Hanks Vanilla Cream Soda or a Dang Butterscotch Root Beer. The options seem endless!
La Grange’s Hot Dog and Burger Company is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 8pm and Sunday from 11am to 7pm.
The price is right at the Hot Dog and Beer Company. Burgers are about $7 and hot dogs are about $5. Sodas are about $4.
The Hot Dog and Burger Company is located at 76 South La Grange Road in Horton’s parking lot behind Q-BBQ. It’s just a five-minute walk from the La Grange Road Stop on the BNSF Metra Train.
