Meet us for Best-of-the-West thick pizzas
Gioacchino’s offers salads, soups and Italian standards from baked mostaccioli to chicken vesuvio and veal marsala. The restaurant’s specialty is Calabrese-style cuisine, which includes that uniquely Chicago treat Pizza Puffs (known here as Panzarotti). There are also great wings cooked just right, and mouthwatering Italian beef sandwiches.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 am – 11 pm. It’s open Fridays and Saturdays until 1:00 am, and on Sundays from noon – 11pm. Gioacchino’s is closed on Mondays.
Stuffed pizzas cost around $30. Pan pizzas run slightly less, and thin crust pizzas start at under $20. Hot sandwiches are in the $12-$15 range, and dinners including rib tips, Italian fried bacala, and eggplant parmigiana average $15-$20.
The restaurant has been in business for more than 40 years. Its time-honored slogan still rings true: “There is no love more sincere than the love of food made from scratch.”
Located at 5201 St. Charles Road in Bellwood, Giacchino’s Pizzeria and Restaurant is on the north side of the street between Davis Drive and 52nd Avenues.
