Just steps off the Metra in Berwyn’s popular Depot district, the Garage Smokehouse & Bar offers ribs, brisket, chicken and pulled pork. Each table is set with with a choice of four sauces to add tang to your barbeque selections, including a basic sweet spice (easygoing), hickory (deep and mellow), Tennessee (more tomato-like with vinegar), and “Not Quite Hot Enough” (and oh yes it is!).

The "Garage Special" lets you have some of everything (ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork, grilled sausage) along with a selection of sides like mac & cheese or cole slaw.
Or you may prefer a sandwich: the brisket style pastrami on rye comes highly recommended.

And don’t forget the hush puppies. They come light and crispy, and a touch of Tennessee sauce makes them perfection.

There’s a full bar and music playing for a party atmosphere. Outside benches can be enjoyed, weather permitting, and ample free parking is all around.

Vesecky’s specializes in Houska, a traditional braided bread, and Kolacky, a sweet, puffy pastry with a fruit or cream filling. They are famous for their hotdogs (muttnicks) that are baked in the bun.

The strudels, including apple and poppyseed, are another favorite along with fresh-baked rye bread.

In more than 125 years of baking authentic Czech delicacies for the Chicagoland area, the consistent quality of the treats has never wavered. 

The Vesecky family stays true to its Czech roots but allows for some evolution to the menu. In a nod to the growing Latino population of Berwyn, the bakery now offers various Mexican cookies and seasonal pastries boasting guava.
