Longtime Forest Parkers will remember this as Kay’s Bakery, but a new name and new ownership mean a revamped bake shop that is already making waves in the community. Or, should we say, baking waves?
Forest Park Bakery has all of your favorite cookies, cupcakes, muffins, cakes, and fresh-baked bread. Add donuts, elephant ears, and delectable turnovers, and this is a dangerously delicious place to visit!
We love the Jalapeño Cream Cheese Rolls and the Banana Nut Bread. In the cupcake category, we can’t get enough of the Red Velvet and Banana Split flavors.
The elephant ears will bring you right back to childhood fairs and festivals. Those come flavored in cinnamon and sugar or even dipped in chocolate.
The Chocolate Fudge Drip Cake had us at hello, and the selection of cookies and kolackies is mouth-watering. Stop by for a Smiley Face Cookie for yourself (and snag one to-go to brighten someone’s day!)
Forest Park Bakery is open from 6:30am to 4pm Monday through Saturday. (Closed Sunday.)

A single Jalapeño Cream Cheese Roll is about $2 while a 9-inch Banana Nut Bread is about $7. A single cupcake at Forest Park Bakery is about $3. Elephant ears are about $1.50.
Fresh-baked cakes start at $20 and a single cookie or kolacky starts at $1.50.
