It’s not often that an Italian restaurant grows famous for its gluten-free options, but that’s definitely one of the reasons that Da Luciano’s in River Grove is on the map for foodies in Chicagoland!

With a separate kitchen, prep team, and cook for gluten-free dishes, this is the kitchen you can trust for delicious Italian that is also gluten-free!

Try the delicious pasta options like the Pasta Boscaiola (sausage, mushrooms, light tomato cream sauce) or the Pasta 4 Formaggi (parmigiana, romano, mascarpone, and cream).

Of course, you can also enjoy traditional gluten-free dishes at Da Luciano’s like the Gnocci al Pesto or Homemade Manicotti.

Available in both gluten-free or non, the Chicken Cacciatore (on the bone) with mushrooms, olives, and Italian spices in a red sauce is something to try as is the Chicken Parmigiana or the Chicken Scallopini (both boneless).

The Homemade Cannoli or Tiramisu is not to miss!

Da Luciano’s also has a full-service bar and an outdoor patio.

Da Luciano’s is open Tuesday through Thursday from 3pm to 10pm, Friday and Saturday from 3pm to 11pm, and Sunday from 3pm to 10pm. Da Luciano’s is closed Monday.

Luciano and Ignazio Libreri are the father-son duo behind Da Luciano Pizza, Pasta and Catering.

Luciano often dreamed of owning a restaurant in the United States, and he started working toward that dream when he immigrated from Caccamo, Sicily with his family. In 1983, Luciano opened La Gondola Pizza and Pasta in Lakeview, where his son, Ignazio worked.

The two decided to go into restaurant ownership together, opening Da Luciano’s in River Grove in 2003. The rest is history!

The duo has now seen their restaurant featured in the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Magazine as well as Check Please.
