Meet us where the wine comes first
At Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant in Oak Park, you’ll feel like you’re in Napa Valley! The tasting room is styled after those in Napa Valley and the wine is just as good.
The winemakers at Coopers Hawk travel the world looking for the best grapes and, when they find them, they work with the grower to craft wine specifically for the tasting room and restaurant.
While wine always comes first here, the chef-driven American menu is designed with care. The chef uses fresh, seasonal ingredients and flavors from around the world to create dishes in the scratch kitchen. Of course, the menu also includes a wine pairing suggestion for every dish!
Coopers Hawk restaurant and tasting room in Oak Park is open every day from 11am to 9pm. Dining reservations are recommended. Wine tastings are walk-in only.
Check out the seasonal chef recommendations for a three-course dinner at Coopers Hawk with an appetizer for about $13, an entree for about $30, and a dessert for about $10.
Each course includes a recommendation for a wine pairing.
With 47 locations around the United States, founder Tim McEnery likely won’t be on hand when you are dining. However, his influence is evident in every Coopers Hawk location from the moment that you walk in.
The modern restaurant with an upscale tasting room is beautifully designed to make you feel as though you’re in Napa Valley, but it’s the connection to the individual community that McEnery hopes shines through in each location.
Since the Illinois roots for this enterprise run deep, there is a chance you might find McEnery or Glenview-based Head Chef Matt McMillin on sight. The restaurant’s winery is located in Woodridge, and McEnery learned the industry at nearby Lynfred Winery.
You may even see Coopers Hawk Master Sommelier Emily Wines (with a last name like that her unique expertise in wine seems fitting!)
Wines is one of only 149 master sommeliers in the United States, and one of only two women and 15 master sommeliers to pass all three wine exams on her first try. With those credentials, you can bet Coopers Hawk’s wine list is second to none!
Located at 950 Lake Street, Coopers Hawk Winery and Restaurant is just a 0.3-mile walk from the Oak Park Stop on the Union Pacific Metra or a 0.3-mile walk from the Harlem/Lake Stop on the Green Line “L” train.
