Meet us where the tacos are inspired by family
This family-owned and operated taco joint has tortillas so good that they have their own tortilla factory in nearby Stone Park!
Cilantro Taco Grill is a 100 percent natural, GMO-free taco spot with authentic tacos, burritos, tortas, and more.
The meat options here seem nearly endless. You can choose from:
Asada (steak), lomo de res (rib-eye steak), pastor (pork), pollo (chicken), carnitas (fried pork), barbacoa (Mexican BBQ), chile relleno (stuffed pepper), picadillo (ground beef), tripas (tripe), lengua (tongue), cecina (thin-salted steak), chorizo (Mexican sausage), pescado (fish), cabeza (beef head), milanesa (breaded steak or chicken), or jamon (ham).
We know it’s hard to choose!
Cilantro Taco Grill is open for lunch and dinner every day.
Tacos are less than $3, tortas are about $7, and burritos are about $8.
It’s a family thing at Cilantro Taco Grill. Every one of the 12 locations and the tortilla factory is operated by the sons, daughters, and grandchildren of the late Javier Morfin, who was affectionately known as “Don Javi”.
Don Javi immigrated to Chicago Guadalajara, Jalisco with his wife and 11 children, dreaming of a better life for his family. He was a farmer and tenacious entrepreneur who inspired the entire Mofrin family with his resilience.
It is his inspiration that led his son Temoc Morfin to start the first Cilantro Taco Grill. From there came the Cilantro Tortilla Factory and the Don Javi food products like the Cilantro Famous House Salsa.
In memory of Don Javi, it will be members of the Morfin family who welcome you into Cilantro Taco Grill!
Just west of downtown Chicago, the Cilantro Taco Grill Northlake location is at 144 East North Avenue.
