Meet us where things get saucy
At Cigars and Stripes BBQ Lounge, owner Ronnie Lottz believes that if you come in twice, you’re a friend. That welcoming vibe is reflected in every element of this neighborhood establishment in Berwyn.
Far more than a tavern, Cigars and Stripes is a comedy club, a home to garage bands, a cigar shop, a pinball hall, a beer lover’s paradise, and let’s not forget about the BBQ.
The ribs and wings here are slow-smoked, hand-rubbed, and served with house-made sauces like the “Sweet Pea Mummy’s Sauce” made with honey and the “Route 666 Death Sauce,” made with hot peppers, molasses, and soy sauce. The sauces come on the side so you can add your preferred level of flavor or heat.
Speaking of heat, the habanero hot link sandwich will have you ordering a second local beer from the rotating tap. Or try the burger voted Berwyn’s best thanks to its premium beef patty mixed with burnt rib tips and poblano pepper.
Come here to feel at home while sampling BBQ smoked with care.
Any time is a good time to swing by Cigars and Stripes BBQ Lounge except Sundays and Mondays when they are closed.
Open Tuesday-Thursday from noon until 11pm. Fridays and Saturdays from noon until midnight. Outdoor seating is available when the sun is out.
With the reputation of being a good deal for a meal, Cigars and Stripes keeps its prices low. A beer will run you about $7. The rib tips are $13 but you can get a Tijuana Street Dog (all-beef hot dog wrapped in smoked bacon) for just $4.
On any given day, you’re bound to find Ronnie behind the bar. He will greet you with a beer and a story or two. This is a neighborhood institution in Berwyn with a welcoming attitude to all newcomers.
Feel free to ask about the daily BBQ special or check the Cigars and Stripes Facebook page for the latest from the grill.
