Meet us where the wings are the thing
It’s all about the wings at Chicago’s Chicken Shack, where whole and intact wings - meaning drumette, flat, and tip - are deep-fried in a peppery flour, creating a crispy skin that holds in all the delicious juices.
The Shack honors the way that the South Side of Chicago makes its wings. Interestingly, though, Chicago’s Chicken Shack got its start far outside of the Windy City in sunny Tempe, Ariz.
But with this second location in Broadview, the Shack is now in sweet home Chicago where it belongs.
Try a four-wing basket or a bucket of wings. You can get them sauced or you can skip the sauce.
Or opt for the Shrimp or Catfish Dinner. Reviewers say the Shack has the best catfish in Chicagoland. The dinners come with bread, coleslaw, and fries.
The Shack is open Monday through Saturday from 11am to 10pm and Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Check the Facebook page for any specials changes to the open hours.
A four-wing dinner with bread, coleslaw, and fries is about $11. A bucket of wings is $59. Don’t worry, if you can’t eat a whole dinner but you still want to try Chicago’s Chicken Shack wings, there is the “My Girl Aint Hungry” meal that is two wings with bread and coleslaw for about $7.
Beyond the wings, the Catfish Dinner is three pieces of catfish filet with bread, coleslaw, and fries for about $23.
Reviewers rave bout the banana pudding, which is about $7.
Trevor Black or “Chicken Diddy” is the man behind those trays of delicious chicken wings. Stop by the Shack to chat with this expert on all things chicken.
Located at 1825 Roosevelt Road in Broadview, the Chicken Shack is just 12 miles west of downtown Chicago.
