Meet us where you’ll find good beer and good friends
If you’re looking for a place to get snobby over beer this isn’t. While you will find great beer on tap, wine by the glass, and even beer to go at the Beer Shop, you can check any pretense of snobbery at the door.
Beer Shop owner Tony Compaglia created this space as a fun and relaxing place for great craft beer over good conversation. While the staff at Beer Shop are known for their extensive knowledge about the craft beer scene, they are not the kind of beer nerds who will shame you for not knowing your hops and grains.
All friends are welcomed at Beer Shop, including the furry ones. This is a laidback, dog-friendly establishment that celebrates good beer and good friendship of all kinds.
In fact, you can buy your human friends a drink by writing their names on the chalkboard that hangs on the wall. Pay your bartender in advance for your friend’s next beverage, and know that they will soon walk into the Beer Shop to see that someone has already bought them a beer.
Beer Shop is open:
Monday: 4pm-11pm
Tuesday: Noon to 11pm
Wednesday: Noon to 11pm
Thursday: Noon to midnight
Friday: Noon to midnight
Saturday: Noon to midnight
Sunday: Noon to 11pm
Don’t miss the special events at Beer Shop. Check the shop’s calendar for holiday events, food truck visits, themed beer tastings, and fun gatherings like the occasional “Think and Drink” trivia nights.
At the urging of his Illinois-born wife, Tony Compaglia quit his job in San Francisco and moved halfway across the country to start his dream of owning a place where people can mingle over good beer.
Stop by to talk to Tony or his knowledgeable team at the Beer Shop in Oak Park where he hopes you will find good beer served with fun and irreverence.
Conveniently located just a three-minute walk from the Harlem/Lake stop on the CTA Green Line, the Beer Shop is at 1026 North Boulevard in Oak Park. If you’re bringing your pup, it’s a 20-minute drive west of downtown Chicago.
