Balkan Bakery Owner Marija Pejkovic acknowledges that she has some big shoes to fill. Her mother-in-law Olga Igic started the bakery in 2007 before passing the baking tray to Pejkovic who continues in the tradition of offering up Balkan hospitality.
Located at 541 S. La Grange Road, Balkan Bakery is just a 25-minute drive from downtown Chicago. It’s hard to see from the street, but it’s there, tucked away in a corner just south of 47th street. Once you find the intimate bakery, you will immediately know that it’s worth the search! Parking is readily available.
