Meet us where the “clay curious” are found
Whether you are just curious about clay or a serious potter, ViaClay is the pottery studio for you! Welcoming adults and kids to classes and drop-in sessions, ViaClay is a welcoming studio in Oak Park where you can master the wheel.
The one-time experience sessions at ViaClay are 90 minutes of learning for all levels of potters (aged 10 and up).
There are also four-week sessions for potters aged 10-18 and summer camps for kids that meet four times per week.
For adults, beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes meet for six consecutive week
The one-time experience sessions at ViaClay are generally on Fridays and Saturdays at noon and 5pm. Ongoing classes meet once a week, check the schedule for the right skill level for you.
The one-time experience sessions are about $80 for 90 minutes. Six-week classes for adults are $300. Classes for kids range depending on the course or camp.
John Beck is both the ViaClay Operations Manager and a pottery teacher who started in ceramics while still attending Oak Park River & Forest High School. Years later, he is proud to introduce his passion for pottery to students of all ages.

ViaClay is located at 208 South Marion Street in Oak Park in the Pleasant Home District. It’s about a four-minute walk from the Oak Park Stop on the Union Pacific West Metra Train or a four-minute walk from the Harlem/Lake Stop on the CTA Green Line.
