Meet us where artists connect
The Oak Park Art League is center for artistic expression, where artists of all skill levels are encouraged to find and refine their creative voices.
Since its founding in 1921, making it one of state's oldest non-profit arts organizations, the Oak Park Art League has supported local artists through programming, exhibitions, art classes and events.
Even the non-profit's location is artistic! The Oak Park Art League is housed in a historic carriage house that was designed in 1902 by Frank Lloyd Wright contemporary and Oak Park Art League member Eben Ezra Roberts. The Oak Park Art League purchased the carriage house in 1937, following fundraising efforts led by the group's members, including Grace Hall Hemingway, the mother of Nobel Prize-winning author and journalist Ernest Hemingway.
Get involved in the art league by taking a class or sign your child up for one of the art league's youth programs. If you're looking for creative inspiration, visit one of the league's many galleries. You'll be glad you did.
There is no charge to visit the Oak Park Art League gallery or the rotating exhibitions.
A landmark in its own right, the Oak Park Art League is located in the middle of Oak Park’s Historic District and within walking distance of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Home and Studio and the birthplace of Ernest Hemingway. The address for the Art League is 720 Chicago Avenue. It’s just a half-mile walk from the Oak Park Stop on the CTA Green Line.
