Meet us where students rule the stage
LATTE stands for La Grange Area Teen Theater Ensemble and it’s an acronym that perfectly describes LATTE Theater.
As the theater troupe points out, the latte, a strong coffee drink with a topping of frothy steamed milk, is similar to this strong team of teen actors who have frothy fun and aim to bring joy to all who consume a show.
Area teens aged 11 to 19 have benefited from LATTE Theater since this dynamic company entered the stage in 2009. The teens are responsible for an entire theater production from directing to scriptwriting to set design to public relations. They bond together to create a professional-level theatrical production from start to finish, thereby learning collaboration, leadership, creativity, and so much more.
Not to mention the priceless memories the teen actors make!
In addition to creating shows, LATTE Theater offers acting training workshops.
LATTE Theater is a non-profit production company that aims to equip teens with the skills to succeed in the arts (and otherwise!)
Check the LATTE Theater show schedule for showtimes and upcoming actor-training workshops.
Show costs range depending on the production. A recent production was $12 for an adult ticket and $5 for seniors and students.
When you watch a LATTE Theater production, the student actors will be your guides. Literally from the ticket takers to the ushers to the on-state performers, the students are in charge of every part of the production.
If you’re interested in attending a workshop at the LATTE Theater (or even auditioning for a show!), the La Grange Area Theater Ensemble is at 9008 Fairview Avenue in Brookfield.
When the LATTE Theater is performing a show, various auditoriums and theaters in and around La Grange host the productions.
