Meet us where mess-making is an art
With art classes, camps, and birthday parties at a studio just for kids, Kidcreate Studio
is the center for creative fun in Oak Park. This is where kids are actually encouraged to make a mess!
The classes are designed to teach art techniques and to encourage active listening and problem-solving skills. But at the end of the hour, it’s “messy time” when kids are set free in the studio to play with finger paint or make slime.
Classes, camps, and workshops are age-specific. Drop off your artist in the making at the studio for an hour of guilt-free me-time as your kid taps into their innate creativity.
Classes are as follows:
Kiddoodlers for 18 months to three years
Kidartists for three to six years
Kidcreators for five to nine years
Kidmasters for nine to 12 years
There is even a mobile studio for onsite art classes at daycares and community events!
The studio is open Monday through Saturday between when classes are running (between 10am and 1pm) or by appointment.
There are also “date night” classes in the evenings from 5:30 to 8:30. Drop off the kids and take yourself out to dinner!
Weekly classes are $16.
The three-hour “date nights” are $37 with a 50 percent discount for each additional child.
Lindsey Danhauser and Allison Durkee are the artists behind Kidcreate Studio. The two longtime friends met in the seventh grade and now they hope to be longtime business partners.
Allison manages the Lakeview Kidcreate Studio and Lindsey is in charge of the art-making and mess-making at the Oak Park studio.
Both enjoy getting in touch with their creative sides while introducing art and creativity to kids.
The Oak Park Kidcreate Studio is located at 200 Harrison Street in the Oak Park Arts District.
